Barley futures gain on renewed buying

Barley prices rose further by Rs 10.60 to Rs 1,196.20 per quintal in the future trade today, as traders renewed buying on firm spot markets cues.

Market analysts said restricted supply against rising demand in spot markets, influenced trading sentiments here in future trade.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, barley price for the delivery of September month gained further by Rs 10.60 or 0.89 per cent to Rs 1,196.20 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 2,370 lots.

August month contract too followed suit and added gains of Rs 6.20 or 0.53 per cent to Rs 1,175.20 per quintal, with an open interest of 15,870 lots.
