Chana up 0.4% on spot demand

Chana for delivery in August traded higher by 0.36%

Chana prices gained 0.43% to Rs 3,264 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by a rise in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in July rose by Rs 14, or 0.43%, to Rs 3,264 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,62,140 lots.

Likewise, chana for delivery in August traded higher by Rs 12, or 0.36%, to Rs 3,331 per quintal in 78,550 lots.

Analysts said speculators enlarged their positions, driven by a rise in demand in the spot market mainly influenced chana prices at futures trade.
