Cheaper Power For Orissa Ferro Chrome Units

The Orissa government has decided to assist beleaguered ferro chrome units in the state by scaling down power tariff payable by industry by about 20 per cent and bringing down the electricity duty paid by them by about 66 per cent.

High power cost, a major input in the making of ferrochrome, is the main cause of sickness for the ferrochrome industry in the state, where nearly 70 per cent of the country
