Red chilli and jeera prices rose Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by stockists as well as exporters amid low stocks.
Restricted arrivals from producing belts also supported the uptrend. Red chilli prices rose by Rs 100 to Rs 6,500-11,100 per quintal on increased demand from Bangladesh.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also increased by Rs 100 to finish at Rs 13,500-13,700 and Rs 15,100-15,600 per quintal, respectively on reports of crop damage in Dhangradha area of Gujarat.
Traders said fresh buying support from retailers and stockists due to rising domestic and export demand and firming trend at futures market mainly pushed up chilli and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
