At 1248 hours, Bharat Electronics and Walchandnagar Industries are up 7% each at Rs 3,020 and Rs 181 respectively, while BEML up 4% at Rs 786 on BSE.
Walchandnagar Industries touched high of Rs 184 during intra-day trade, rallied 11% from its early morning low of Rs 166 on BSE.
According to PTI report suggests that the government is “seriously considering” setting up of a promotional body to help domestic companies manufacturing defence products to find investors and markets.
The government is also streamlining its ‘make policy’ in order to start at least 8-10 projects every year to see that process of most of the products is indigenised, Mohan Kumar, Secretary (Defence Production).
