The stocks of companies engaged in the steel producing business have done well in the last three months from September to December on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Share price of Essar Steel rose from Rs 27.25 on September 1, to today's close of Rs 35.45, up 30.09 per cent on the BSE.

During the same period the stock price of Jindal Vijaynagar Steel increased from Rs 10.70 to Rs 13.72, up by 28.22 per cent.

Raipur Alloys increased from Rs 41.30 to Rs 64.65 and SAIL gained from Rs 39.25 to Rs 55.20, up 40.63 per cent. The share price of Tata Steel gained from Rs 249.60 to Rs 323.30.

Sunflag Iron & Steel rose from Rs 7.26 to Rs 12.24 and Bellary Steels from Rs 2.54 to Rs 4.16.

Ahmedabad Steelcraft rose from Rs 9.05 to Rs 10.01. Steel Strips Wheels gained from Rs 49.70 to Rrs 105.10. Southern Iron & Steel firmed up from Rs 14.92 to Rs 22.65.
