Gur closes quiet on small buying volumes

Absence of significant fundamentals keeps gur prices unchanged

Dull conditions persisted in the wholesale Jaggery market at the national capital as prices continued to be at previous levels in the absence of any singnificant fundamentals.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also closed without any changes on little offtakes.

Marketmen said restricted buying support from retailers and stockist in the absence of any factors held prices unchanged.

The following are today's quotations per quintal:

Gur chakku 2,800-2,860, pedi 2,850-2,900, dhayya 2,900-3,000 and shakkar 3,000-3,100.

Muzaffarnagar: Raskat 2,350-2,450, chakku 2,450-2,800 and khurpa 2,500-2,550.

Muradnagar: Pedi 2,600-2,650 and dhayya 2,600-2,625.
