Idfc To Focus On Market Reforms

The Infrastructure Development Financing Company Ltd (IDFC) will focus on infrastructure reforms in agriculture markets as part of its food and farm sector agenda for the current year.
According to IDFC, its food and agri division has already completed advisory for a number of state specific assignments in Uttranchal, Uttar Pradesh and the North East.
For Uttranchal, the corporation undertook an agri vision study. Feasibility studies for setting up dedicated agri export zones were completed for Tripura and Sikkim.
A feasibility study for rural haats in select districts in Uttranchal was also completed.
The study was funded by the World Bank as part of the Uttranchal Diversified Agriculture Support Programme.
In Uttar Pradesh, as part of the UP Diversified Agricultural Support Programme, the Infrastructure Development Financing Company Ltd completed a study on market committee finances for the World Bank.
In addition, IDFC is actively interacting with other states, like Jharkhand, Orissa and Chattisgarh, on advisory assignments on markets and allied areas.
