Indices pare gains; Maruti tumbles 9%

The NSE Nifty is up 33 points at 4,192.

Tata Steel has soared 5.3% to Rs 631. BHEL and ITC have surged 4.3% each to Rs 1,572 and Rs 187, respectively.

Wipro has rallied 3.4% to Rs 385. Reliance Communications and Hindalco have advanced 3% each to Rs 460 and Rs 147, respectively.

Cipla and Reliance Infrastructure have gained 2.5% each at Rs 232 and Rs 882, respectively. TCS and ACC have added 2.3% each to Rs 833 and Rs 555, respectively.

HDFC Bank, SBI, Hindustan Unilever and Grasim are up around 2% each at Rs 1,106, Rs 1,375, Rs 232 and Rs 1,760, respectively.

Maruti has plunged 8.8% to Rs 591. Tata Motors has tumbled 3.6% to Rs 405, and Jaiprakash Associates has shed 3.3% at Rs 161.

DLF has dropped 3% to Rs 450. Bharti Airtel has slipped 2.7% to Rs 777.

Out of 2,532 stocks traded, 1,728 have advanced, 734 have declined and 70 are unchanged.
