Markets firm; BHEL, HDFC Bank up 9%

The NSE Nifty is up 195 points at 4,435.

ICICI Bank and Reliance Communications have zoomed 11.5% each to Rs 738 and Rs 522, respectively. Reliance Infrastructure has soared over 10% to Rs 1,013.

BHEL and HDFC Bank have surged around 9% each to Rs 1,747 and Rs 1,198, respectively. DLF has rallied 8.5% to Rs 493.

HDFC has moved up 7.8% to Rs 2,314, and SBI has gained 7.5% at Rs 1,503.

Tata Steel has advanced 6.5% at Rs 665, and Tata Motors has added nearly 6% to Rs 436.

Larsen & Toubro is up nearly 5% at Rs 2,697. Bharti Airtel and Wipro are up 4.5% each at Rs 815 and Rs 412, respectively.

Cipla has slipped 1.5% to Rs 234.

Out of 2,588 stocks traded so far, 2,171 have advanced, 380 have declined and 37 are unchanged.
