Markets firm; HDFC, Jaiprakash soar 9%

The NSE Nifty is up 110 points at 3,927.

HDFC, Jaiprakash Associates and Maruti have zoomed 9% each to Rs 1,875, Rs 149 and Rs 596, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and TCS have rallied 6.5% each to Rs 2,416 and Rs 774, respectively.

SBI and DLF have surged over 6% each to Rs 1,210 and Rs 419, repsectively. HDFC Bank has added 5.8% to Rs 956.

Tata Motors and Reliance Infrastructure have advanced 5% each to Rs 416 and Rs 804, respectively.

Ranbaxy has plunged 4.5% to Rs 449, and Tata Steel has shed 3.8% at Rs 602.

Out of 2,649 stocks traded, 1,484 have advanced and 1,086 have declined.
