Markets gain in early trades

Markets have opened in the green this morning on positive global cues.

The Sensex has opened at 16,819 - up 152 points. The index is now up 155 points at 16,821.

The Nifty is up 46 points at 5,049.

US markets gained on Thursday on receeding worries about Europe. The Dow Jones industrial average added 285 points, or 2.85%, to close unofficially at 10,259. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index rose 35 points, or 3%, to finish unofficially at 1,103. The Nasdaq Composite Index gained 82 points, or 4% to end unofficially at 2,277.68.

Asian markets are also in green. The Nikkei has jumped 1.8% to 9,805. Hang Seng is up 1.7% at 19,769.

All sectoral indices are in green. BSE metal index has jumped 3% to 15,028. Realty and auto indices are up around 2% each.

Metal stocks are in green. Hindalco has gained 4% at Rs 154. Sterlite has jumped 3.5% to Rs 668. Tata Steel has moved up 2.3% to Rs 505. Jindal Steel gas gained 1.7% at Rs 635.

Tata Motors has added 2.7% to Rs 764. Mahidnra & Mahindra has advanced 1.6% to Rs 537.

DLF and ACC has added 2% each to Rs 276 and Rs 832, respectively.

ICICI Bank, ITC, ONGC and Reliance Communications have moved up 1% each.

There are no stock in the negative side right now.
