Mentha oil futures prices today rose by 0.65 per cent to Rs 831.30 per kg after traders created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in domestic as well as export demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February gained Rs 5.40, or 0.65 per cent, to Rs 831.90 per kg, with a trading volume of 356 lots.

The January contract edged up by Rs 4.20, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 819 per kg, with a business turnover of 213 lots.

Marketmen said a firming trend at the spot markets on the back of rising domestic and export demand against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade here.
