The National Stock Exchange (NSE) today launched a database on corporate bonds to boost the liquidity in the debt platform.
The database, which will be made publicly available on its website, will provide information on nearly 1,500 bonds from more than 100 issuers. NSE has tied up with Prime Database for this initiative.
The Corporate Bond Information Database was unveiled by Sebi chairman UK Sinha, who said the that the regulator would announce new measures in the next few days to improve liquidity in the corporate bond market.
A separate debt platform launched by all three exchanges, NSE, BSE and MCX-SX, earlier this year is yet to see any traction.
