Sensex down marginally; Tata Steel, Ranbaxy gain

The Sensex is now down 23 points at 14,633.

The NSE Nifty is down 11 points at 4,403.

Maruti has surged 2.5% to Rs 575. Tata Steel, Grasim and Ranbaxy have rallied over 2% each to Rs 696, Rs 1,875 and Rs 520, respectively.

Satyam, Tata Power and Jaiprakash Associates have advanced over 1.5% each to Rs 398, Rs 1,134 and Rs 173, respectively.

ACC, Infosys and SBI are up over 1% each at Rs 584, Rs 1,660 and Rs 1,515, respectively.

TCS has slipped over 2% to Rs 821. ONGC have shed 1.7% at Rs 980.

HDFC and Reliance are down 1.5% each at Rs 2,369 and Rs 2,269, respectively.

Out of 2,584 stocks traded so far, 1,776 have moved up, 746 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
