The Sensex has rallied to a high of 12,225, and is now up 86 points at 12,217.
ONGC has soared 2.7% to Rs 909. Reliance Communications and Hindalco have advanced 2.5% each at Rs 243 and Rs 64, respectively.
Bharti Airtel, Ranbaxy, NTPC and SBI have added 2% each at Rs 768, Rs 181, Rs 194 and Rs 1,369, respectively.
TCS has tumbled 3.5% to Rs 628. Wipro has shed 2% to Rs 361. Hindustan Unilever and ICICI Bank have dropped around 1.5% each at Rs 234 and Rs 561, respetively.
The market breadth is extremely positive- out of 2,395 shares traded, 1,585 have advanced and 726 have declined.
