The Sensex has pared some gains and is now up 172 points at 14,573.
ICICI Bank and DLF have surged over 3.5% each to Rs 668 and Rs 501, respectively.
HDFC and Tata Motors have rallied 3% each to Rs 2,351 and Rs 439, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra and HDFC Bank have moved up 2.8% each to Rs 564 and Rs 1,228, respectively.
Reliance Infrastructure, Satyam and Grasim have gained around 2.5% each at Rs 1,004, Rs 396 and Rs 1,975, respectively.
SBI is up over 2% at Rs 1,377.
