Sensex pares gains, up 128pts; breadth -ve

The NSE Nifty is up 41 points at 5,041.

Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications have soared over 6.5% each to Rs 901 and Rs 567, respectively.

HDFC and Wipro have surged over 2.5% each to Rs 2,655 and Rs 461, respectively.

SBI and ICICI Bank have rallied 1.7% each to Rs 1,713 and Rs 891, respectively. HDFC Bank has added 1.5% to Rs 1,468.

ONGC is up 1% at Rs 1,043.

Jaiprakash Associates has plunged 4.5% to Rs 235. DLF has shed 2.6% at Rs 657.

ACC and Ambuja Cements are down over 1% each at Rs 788 and Rs 114, respectively.

The market breadth has turned negative - out of 2,560 stocks traded so far, 1,370 have declined, 1,121 have declined and 69 are unchanged.
