Sensex pares gains; Wipro up 4%

The Sensex has pared all its gains. The index is now flat at 17,353, up 27 points.

The NSE Nifty is at 5,150, up eight points.

Wipro and Hindalco have advanced 3.5% each to Rs 594 and Rs 140, respectively.

Tata Steel and DLF have increased over 2% each to Rs 576 and Rs 471, respectively.

TCS has added over 1.5% each to Rs 619.

Mahindra & Mahindra has shed 2.5% to Rs 913. Grasim Industries and Reliance Communications have slipped over 1.5% each to Rs 2,344 and Rs 235, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly positive, out of 2,331 shares traded, 1,182 advanced 1,090 declined on the BSE.

The BSE Realty and metal indices are up 1% at 4,746 and 15,975, respectively.
