The NSE Nifty is down 95 points at 4,775.
Hindalco has tumbled 4.3% to Rs 184. NTPC and HDFC Bank have plunged 3.4% each to Rs 166 and Rs 1,312, respectively.
Reliance Infrastructure has lost over 3% at Rs 1,193. Reliance Communications has slipped 2.8% to Rs 561.
BHEL and Ambuja Cements have declined 2.6% each at Rs 1,617 and Rs 93, respectively.

ICICI Bank has shed 2% to Rs 772. TCS has slipped 1.9% at Rs 1,010.
Cipla and Reliance are down 1.2% each at Rs 210 and Rs 2,374, respectively.
Hindustan Unilever and Grasim have dropped 1% each at Rs 235 and Rs 2,197, respectively.
Maruti has gained 1.5% to Rs 776. Jaiprakash Associates has advanced 1.2% to Rs 216.
Satyam is up 1% at Rs 529. ITC has inched 0.8% at Rs 219.
Out of 2,579 stocks traded so far, 1,700 have declined, 809 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
