Hindalco and Jaiprakash Associates have plunged around 8% each to Rs 148 and Rs 154, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro has tumbled 6.3% to Rs 2,402.
Ranbaxy and Maruti have slumped over 5% each to Rs 515 and Rs 691, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure and Mahindra & Mahindra have shed 4.5% each at Rs 919 and Rs 549, respectively.
Tata Steel, Reliance and SBI have slipped 4% each to Rs 746, Rs 2,013 and Rs 1,200, respectively.
ACC and BHEL have dropped over 3% each to Rs 606 and Rs 1,362, respectively.
ONGC has surged 2.5% to Rs 889. HDFC has rallied 1.4% to Rs 2,215.
Satyam and Infosys are up 1% each at Rs 460 and Rs 1,847, respectively.
The market breadth is still extremely negative - out of 2,659 stocks traded so far, 2,236 have declined, 387 have advanced and 36 are unchanged.
