Sensex slips; tech stocks extends losses

The NSE Nifty is up 18 points at 4,067.

ONGC has soared 5% to Rs 891. Tata Steel has surged over 4% to Rs 694.

Reliance Infrastructre has gained 3.7% at Rs 831, and Rs Maruti has rallied 3.5% to Rs 584.

NPTC and SBI have moved up 3.3% each to Rs 167 and Rs 1,263, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Tata Motors have added 2.5% each to Rs 2,418 and Rs 410, respectively.

Reliance is up 2.2% at Rs 2,061.

Ranbaxy has slumped 10.5% to Rs 476.

Satyam has plunged 6.6% to Rs 415, and Infosys has tumbled over 6% to Rs 1,573. TCS has slipped over 3% to Rs 774. Wipro has shed 2% at Rs 404.

HDFC and HDFC Bank have dropped over 3% each to Rs 1,935 and Rs 1,035, respectively.

BHEL has declined 2.8% to Rs 1,479. Hindalco is down over 2% to Rs 152.

Out of 2,521 stocks traded so far, 1,314 have declined, 1,135 have advanced and 72 are unchanged.
