Sensex up 194pts; JP Associates drops 3%

The NSE Nifty is up 55 points at 5,055.

Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications have soared 7% each to Rs 904 and Rs 570, respectively.

HDFC and ICICI Bank have surged over 3% each to Rs 2,675 and Rs 904, respectively. SBI has rallied 2.7% to Rs 1,728.

Wipro has advanced over 2% to Rs 459. Tata Steel and HDFC Bank have gained 1.7% each at Rs 790 and Rs 1,470, respectively.

ONGC and Reliance Energy are up 1% each at Rs 1,043 and Rs 1,319, respectively.

Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has plunged over 3% to Rs 239. DLF and ACC have dropped nearly 2% each to Rs 662 and Rs 783, respectively.

Cipla has shed 1.7% at Rs 222. Maruti has declined 1.5% to Rs 735.

Infosys and Ambuja Cements are down over 1% each at Rs 1,672 and Rs 114, respectively.

Out of 2,667 stocks traded so far, 1,562 have declined, 1,042 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
