Silver prices traded higher by Rs 91, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 29,130 per kg in futures market today on pick up in demand in spot markets amid firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, silver for September-month rose Rs 91, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 29,130 per kg, with an open interest of 20,931 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December moved up by Rs 81, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 29,275 per kg, with an open interest of 3,361 lots.
Market analysts said pick up in demand in the spot market amid firming global trend mainly led to a rise in silver prices at futures market.
Meanwhile, silver gained 0.44 per cent to $18.22 an ounce in Asian region.
