Soyabean up 1.6% on global cues

Soyabean prices improved by Rs 47 to Rs 2,891 per quintal in futures trade today on the back of firm overseas markets cues.

Marketmen said tracking a firm trend in international markets, traders indulged in enlarging their positions, which led to the increase in prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soyabean for delivery in April looked up by Rs 47, or 1.65%, to Rs 2,891 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,55,320 lots.

March soyabean gained Rs 45.50, or 1.63%, to Rs 2,836 per quintal, with an open interest of 72,030 lots.
