Sugar prices decline on lower demand

Sugar prices declined moderately at the Vashi wholesale market here today on lack of demand from stockists amidst ample supply from the mills.

Medium sugar quality (M-30) fell up by Rs 15/20 per quintal to Rs 2,810/2,880 from overnight closing level of Rs 2,825/2,900.

Small sugar quality (S-30) moved down by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,760/2,810 from  of Rs 2,770/2,820 previously.

The following are today's closing rates per quintal, with previous rates in brackets: Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,760/2,810 (Rs 2,770/2,820) and Medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,810/2,880(Rs 2,825/2,900)
