US markets drop on weak data

US markets slipped on Wednesday as optimism about the economic recovery was hindered by a weak private payrolls and services sector data.

The Dow shed 39 points to 9,281. The Nasdaq dropped 18 points (1%) to 1,993.

Indian ADRs were mostly down. MTNL slumped 3.5% to $4.25.

Tata Communications and Tata Motors dropped 1.5% each to $20.44 and $11.61, respectively.

Dr Reddy's, Genpact and Infosys slipped 1% each to $17.04, $12.82 and $44.47, respectively.

Meanwhile, Mahindra Satyam added 2.5% to $5.95. Sterlite and Patni Computers were up 1% each at $14.09 and $14.82, respectively.
