The Usher Agro scrip hit the 5 per cent upper circuit on news that a part of its Mathura plant has started operations. The stock ended the day at Rs 40.65. The company commenced commercial production for a line of its rice mill (capacity 1,00,000 MTPA) at Chhata, Mathura.
The company intends to expand the capacity at this plant to 1,94,400 MTPA. The stock hit a low of Rs 38.35 during the day and recorded trading volumes of 21,567 shares. The scrip made a 52-week high of Rs 217.4 (April 22, 2008) and a low of Rs 37.25 (January 27, 2009).
