Audi will be launching the new Q7 in a few days from now, on 10th December. The flagship SUV has been a huge hit with customers and Audi is hoping to pull off an encore with the new Q7. Audi have put their full-size SUV through a weight loss program, getting it to shed 300 kilograms in the process. The reduced weight is bound to improve upon the handling and performance, not to mention the fuel efficiency and emissions gains.

The reworked lines on the outside give the new Q7 a sharper look overall. Gone is the bulky appearance, and the new Q7 now looks leaner and more purposeful than ever. The slimmer headlights as well as the new-taillights are LED units. All-in-all, the new design language on the new Q7 is a pointer towards the direction Audi would take in the models to come.

On the inside, the cabin appears to be larger, and is likely to be better appointed too. The dual-zone air conditioning system has been newly developed by Audi. Deploying a fresh take on the way HVAC's are operated, it uses fewer buttons and controls. Audi seem to have gone for the intuitive approach, with animated symbols and capacitive toggle switches being used extensively. There is a Modular Infotainment Platform with an integrated touchscreen on the new Q7 as well.

On powertrain duties in the new Q7 will be the 3.0 litre Tdi engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle-shifter controls as standard. Needless to say, the new Q7 shall come with Audi's signature Quattro all-wheel-drive system as well. To be launched in India on the 10th of December, the new Q7 will initially take the CBU route into the country. Audi have also shared their plans of beginning CKD operations at their plant in Aurangabad sometime late next year.
