Ford Figo Aspire sedan launched at INR 5.40 lakhs (On-road)

Ford Figo Aspire has been launched at a starting price of INR 5.40 lakhs(on-road, New Delhi) in the country. The Figo Aspire sedan is launched in both petrol and diesel variants with a total of 8 variants. Ford India started the advance bookings for the sedan from 27th July at all company authorized dealerships at a token amount of INR 30,000. Just so you know, Figo Aspire is the first model to be wheeled out of Ford's newly-inaugurated factory in Sanand, Gujarat.

Being based on the new-generation Figo hatch - which is slated to be introduced sometimes later in the year - the Figo Aspire is Ford's first major launch of 2015 in India. The Figo Aspire appears to be a complete package in terms of offering, as it carries an array of contemporary features in form of Electric boot release, Rear fog lamps, Guide- Me-Home headlamps, Tilt adjustable steering wheel, Rear centre armrest, Steering-mounted audio and phone controls, MyFord Dock, Driver seat height adjustable, and Automatic climate control. Just so you know, Ford Figo Aspire boasts of dual front airbags as standard safety feature across the entire variant line-up.

The range-topping grade of Ford Figo Aspire features Leather seats, CD/MP3 player, 4.2-inch multi-function display, Ford MyKey, Ford's SYNC Applink with voice command, Six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Electronic stability program (ESP), traction control and Hill-start assist and Emergency assistance as standard. Mechanically, the Figo Aspire sedan is presented in three engines: a new 1.2-litre, four-cylinder Ti-VCT petrol engine, a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TiVCT petrol engine and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TDCi diesel engine. The 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine comes after a bit of tweaking as it now returns 98.5bhp of top power and 25.8 km/l of mileage. It would be paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Just so you know, this same motor is offered with EcoSport sub-compact SUV and Fiesta mid-sized sedan, albeit with lesser power.

Talking about the petrol engines, the base and mid variants would be in-housing the new 1.2-litre, four-cylinder Ti-VCT mill. It would develop a maximum power of 87bhp and fuel efficiency of 18.2 km/l, while combined with a five-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TiVCT petrol engine would be available with a six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission, while it produces a maximum power of 110bhp, and delivers a mileage of 17.2kmpl.
