Maserati has been officially launched in India, but this time the official importer for the company is Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Group. Maserati falls under the FCA umbrella and the group has decided to introduce it in India. Fiat already had the import division, and this team will be working on importing the Abarth 595 to India.

Maserati's first dealership will be in Mumbai and it will be selling five cars in the initial phase. These are Ghibli diesel, which will be the entry-level sedan and will be costing about INR 1.25 crore (on-road), then it will be the Quattroporte diesel and GTS costing INR 1.7 crore and INR 2.5 crore respectively. The GT will cost INR 2 crore and GT GranCabrio will be priced at INR 2.25 crore.

The Ghibli is BMW 530d size and competes with the German mid-size luxury sedans in Europe. While the Quattroporte is direct competition to the Porsche Panamera. The first three dealerships will be opened in New Delhi, Mumbai and Begaluru. The other cities being considered are Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. The sales will commence from the third quarter of 2015.

Maserati will be bringing its entire portfolio to India and this will also include the new Levante SUV as well. The Italian automaker is confident of achieving double digit sales figures in its first year of operation, which starts in September 2015. Maser will be directly competing with Porsche in India.
