Union Commerce Minister Anand Sharma on Tuesday termed the 2014 general election as a straight fight between two principal ideologies-individualism and democracy-at national level.
"The 2014 general is important because it is a straight fight between two principal ideologies at national level. It is above the candidates of political parties," Sharma said.
Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, on Monday had claimed that his wave had turned into a Tsunami.
Meanwhile, referring to Modi, Sharma said that individualism is a big challenge for the democratic setup and also an insult to millions of voters of the country.
"Ours is a biggest democracy in the world and individualism is a big challenge for the democratic setup and this also an insult to 810 million voters of the country," he added.
