NFL Super Bowl XLIX has become the most watched show in the U.S. TV history with 114.5m viewers, NBC announced recently.
It was also a good night for Katy Perry and her halftime show too. The "Roar" singer's half-time performance with Missy Elliot and Lenny Kravitz snagged 118.5 million viewers, Deadline.com reported.
This record audience was obviously a big win for the Peacock network and the NFL, but it's also a victory for many of the game's sponsors like McDonald's (MCD) and Budweiser (AHBIF) who shelled out 4.5 million dollars per 30-second ad for the game.
Next year's Super Bowl 50 has been scheduled to be broadcast on February 7, 2016 by CBS from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. It's being nicknamed the Golden Super Bowl because of the anniversary and the fact it was being played in the Golden State.
