The Indian Railways on Monday decided to cancel 78 trains till January 15 next year in view of dense fog in many parts of north India reducing visibility.
The Meteorological (MeT) department earlier today said the temperature in the national capital will hover between five to seven degrees for the next two to three days.
The temperatures in the national capital have plunged below normal levels in the past two days.
According to the MeT officials, the reason for the change has been north-northwesterly winds that have been transporting cold from the north.
Meanwhile, around 24 trains are running late, five have been rescheduled and one has been cancelled due to foggy weather in the national capital.
Six international and eight domestic flights at the Indra Gandhi International Airport have also been delayed following poor visibility.
