The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday drew criticism from leaders across the political spectrum after it removed senior members Yogendra Yadav and prashant Bhushan from its Political Affairs Committee (PAC).
Congress leader J P Aggarwal criticized move, saying that the AAP was not ready to listen to any 'decent voice'.
"The move suggests that they are not ready to listen to any decent voice," Aggarwal told ANI.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vijay Goel questioned the democracy of the AAP.
"What happened to AAP's principle of free speech and democracy?" Goel said.
Janata Dal (United) leader K C Tyagi termed the removal of the two leaders from the PAC as 'unfortunate' and said that such a move will disappoint people.
"It is unfortunate. When people give such a mandate they are of unity and good governance. This incident will surely disappoint people," Tyagi said.
Earlier in the day, Yadav and Bhushan were removed from the AAP's key PAC. The decision was taken by the AAP national executive, with plans of the PAC being reconstituted.
According to reports, 8 members of the PAC voted in favour of Bhushan and Yadav, while 11 members voted against them.
