The Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) on Friday lodged a complaint to the Anti- Corruption Branch(ACB) against Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel alongside his son and other concerned public officials of the New Delhi Municipal Corporation(NDMC) for misuse of power and causing huge loss to exchequer.

The complaint was filed by AAP state convener Dilip Pandey over Dharampura Haveli located in Chandni Chowk area of Delhi.

"Mayor of North Delhi Municipal Corporation in collusion and connivance with Vijay Goel got exempted from conversion/parking charges of the said building in order to give him undue benefit by misusing his power," the complaint copy stated.

"When the information came in public domain it it generated lot of negative public sentiments. It is also be mentioned that lots of protest took place and ultimately on 24th August 2016 the corporation put forth a fresh proposal seeking exemption of conversion and Parking charges for all notified heritage building," the statement added.

Pandey alleged that Goel has misused his power and conspired with the Mayor, Commissioner and other officials of the NDMC to get unlawful waiver from payment of conversions charges/parking charges on aforesaid property.

"For Minister's convenience NDMC passed another notification exempting other similar properties under the garb of promoting heritage building whereas their main motive was to give undue advantage to the Minister in question. Thus caused a loss of 25 crores to the corporation illegally and unlawfully," the statement added.

The NDMC is already in deficit of Rs. 2,700 crores and the disputed Haveli comes under the jurisdiction of the civic body.
