Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday hit out at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and questioned its authority to decide about who is nation and anti-national.
"Who is ABVP to decide who is national and who an anti-national? Who has given them the right to do so?" he told ANI.
Controversy erupted after a Delhi University student Gurmehar Kaur invited a wrath by posting a message against the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on social media.
She also visited the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) alleging that she received rape threats on social media for posting the message.
The Delhi Police yesterday filed an FIR against the rape threat to the 20-year-old student.
The entire controversy gained momentum after last week's clash between the Left-affiliated All India Students Association (AISA) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) backed ABVP over cancellation of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Umar Khalid's talk at Delhi University's Ramjas College.
