Asserting that there have been major changes in the abilities and equipment of the Afghan National Security and Defense Forces (ANDSF), the Ministry of Defence (MoD) here has said that the security forces will appear stronger in the coming fighting season.

"Militants do not have the morale they had in the past. We incurred heavy casualties to them during the [last] winter and no province will fall to them anymore," Tolo news quoted Ministry of Defence ( MoD) spokesman Dawlat Waziri as saying.

According to the ministry, security forces in Helmand, one of the main battlefields in the country, now have access to drones.

"U.S has provided a number of drones to the 205 Maiwand Corps commandants and now they are under our forces' control," Tolo news quoted Esmatullah Dawlatzai, commander of 505 Zone in Bost as saying.

In the fighting season, the insurgent groups and security forces battle to topple each other from the area of power. The Afghan Taliban has been waging war against the state since being toppled from power in 2001.
