Afghan presidential polls: Explosive 'vote fraud' tapes emerge

The emergence of potentially explosive audio tapes and recordings in Afghanistan points towards a major electoral fraud.

According to the BBC, audio tapes released in Afghanistan allegedly reveal a senior election official directing that ballot boxes be stuffed in the crucial presidential run-off.

It is reported that the security services have released the recordings, which cannot be independently verified.

The Abdullah Abdullah camp has placed the audiotapes in the public domain.

While the camp has declined to reveal their source, both Abdullah and his rival Ashraf Ghani have made fraud allegations against each other.

However, audio tapes appear to reveal a partisan senior election official working in Ghani's interest, the report said.
