Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav began his roadshow in Varanasi constituency from where Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is contesting the Lok Sabha elections.

Akhilesh is campaigning for the Samajwadi Party's (SP) candidate from Varanasi, Kailash Chaurasia, who has been pitted against Modi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal and Congress's Ajay Rai.

Thousand of SP's supporters gathered on the streets as his cavalcade passed through the crowd.

Earlier today, Congress vice president, Rahul Gandhi, had also held a roadshow in the constituency and campaigned for the party's candidate Ajay Rai.
