Group of nursing staff at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) went on strike on Friday demanding higher wages than recommended under the Seventh Pay Commission.
At least 5000 staff members of emergency department at the AIIMS held strike who are claiming hike in wages.
The members also alleged that the authority, who had given commitment in writing to increase wages, later denied doing so.
AIIMS emergency department staff member Harish Kumar Kajra in conversation with ANI said, "We have been told that our wages would be increased under seventh PC but the authority denied of making any such promise."
The members of nursing staff threatened to go for further strike on March 27 if their demands are not fulfilled.
