South African Test skipper Hashim Amla admitted that he is glad that his contribution has helped his team to reach in a good position on day two of the first Test against West Indies in Centurion, after notching up the highest score for a South African captain on home soil.

Amla, who amassed a staggering knock of 208, said that he was really happy to get some runs on the board and glad that the team was in a good position, adding that he hadn't thought of it any further than being another innings for him in Test Cricket, Sport24 reported.

Amla, whose score was also the highest ever at the ground, further said that records were always going to be broken, thus one couldn't attach sentimental value to it.

South Africa declared their innings at 552 for the loss of five wickets, with Stiaan van Zyl hitting his maiden Test century scoring a knock of 101 runs.
