Another FIR has been lodged against controversial Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan for allegedly making a provocative speech at an election rally in Nehtaur in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh.

Assistant Returning officer Sanjay Kumar Singh on yesterday lodged an FIR, accusing Khan of flaring up communal feelings and trying to divide communities on religious lines.

The FIR was lodged after seeing the video footage against Khan and SP candidate Yashvir Singh's representative Rajvardhan Singh.

Earlier, a case was registered against the Samjawadi Party leader in Thana Bhawan police station on Saturday for his remarks at an election rally in Jalalabad area of the district on April 8.

The controversial SP leader had allegedly attacked BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi with his vitriolic words.

"His hands are coloured with blood of innocent people and you should never let any such person rule the country," Khan said.

Earlier, Ghaziabad police had also booked Azam Khan for his alleged inflammatory speech over Kargil War which he made on April 7 when he said that Muslim soldiers had solely won the Kargil war. Later on the Election Commission had taken preventive steps to desist the SP leader from holding any public rallies which could disrupt poll atmosphere and hurt religious sentiments.
