After rescuing 55 Indians from earthquake-hit Nepal, another Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft, C-17 Globemaster III with 102 Indians landed at the Palam airport in the early hours of Sunday in New Delhi.

Wing Commander Rochelle De Silva (PRO, IAF) said that we have evacuated 101 adults and one infant in this C-17 Globemaster aircraft.

"We have evacuated 101 adults and one infant in this aircraft. In the previous one, some 60 Indians were evacuated. We are expecting two more aircrafts," said Wing Commander Rochelle De Silva.

The Indians who were stranded in Nepal applauded the Government of India for their effort.

"It was very massive. We contacted the embassy and they helped us get back here," said an Indian stranded in Nepal.

"Very big thanks to Government of India," said another Indian stranded in Nepal.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence, Sitanshu Kar shared the information via the twitter.

"#NepalEarthquake 102 Indians including one baby brought back by the C-17 Globemaster III of IAF from Kathmandu to Palam, Delhi," he posted on Twitter.

Earlier in the day, fifty-five Indians, who were rescued from Nepal hours after a devastating earthquake cause havoc in the neighbouring country, arrived in the national capital.

The C-130J carrying stranded Indians, including four infants, landed at the Palam airport at around 10.20 pm.

The Indian Government had sent four aircrafts with NDRF teams to oversee rescue and relief operations and also set up a 24-hour control room for queries regarding the tragedy.

Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar said that Prime Minister Modi had indicated to President Ram Baran of Nepal and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala that India will do everything within its capabilities to be of help to the nation at this difficult moment.

"We have set up a helpline in the ministry; the numbers have been put out. We would also request that if there are people who know that their relatives are in Nepal to send us their details. So, there is an e-mail address which is controlroom@mea.gov.in. If anybody who would like to keep us informed about their relatives and give us their contact numbers that would be very helpful for us," he added.

The death toll in Nepal from the powerful earthquake has reportedly risen to 1100.
