Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday spoke to Adnan Kazim, the Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates, and proposed the idea of establishment of Emirates hub in the state capital.

Interacting through a video conference, Naidu told Kazim that he would like to improve the connectivity between cities in Andhra Pradesh with Dubai, and develop more green-field airports like Visakhapatnam International Airport.

"I have been an admirer of Dubai for a long time, and I have received great cooperation and knowledge from the government in the past. I would like to revive that friendship, and request the expertise for the development of Amaravati", said the Chief Minister.

The team from Emirates also expressed eagerness to renew old ties with the Chief Minister and recalled the successful business ventures with him in Hyderabad.

Kazim said that a team from Emirates will soon be sent to survey the opportunities available in Amravati and the next steps will be discussed during the Chief Minister Naidu's visit to Dubai on October 22.

Naidu will be welcomed in Dubai by Chairman of Emirates, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and the uncle of the ruler, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
