The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday said it was 'appalling' to see the Gandhi family, which has ruled over Amethi for years, looking to the BJP to develop their political bastion.
"It is appalling that the Gandhi family which has ruled that bastion (Amethi) all these years look up to the BJP for its development. Smriti Irani has given a perfect answer over this issue, that be it Priyanka Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi, none of them do their homework before raising an issue," said party spokesperson Sambit Patra.
Earlier on Wednesday, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had accused Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani of not addressing issues related to the youth of Amethi.
Priyanka's attack on Irani came after the latter stated that the NDA Government at the Centre has done more for the region than generations of the Congress's first family members, while announcing several schemes for the Amethi constituency.
