With an aim to promote tourism and rich cultural heritage, the second edition of the Bomdila festival was held in Arunachal Pradesh.

Indigenous tribes from across the state showcased their culture and tradition.

Amidst the scenic beauty in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, Bomdila town came alive with the colorful cultural festival.

The three-day extravaganza was held at Buddha Stadium with great fervor. The ethnic tribes in their best traditional attires showcased the unique and colorful cultural tradition of the state.

The festival was graced by Minister of state for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, who said the north-east has great potential in the tourism sector.

"People want to come to North-East. There are many things in North-East to showcase to the world. You people have witnessed many things. Therefore, apart from showcasing culture we have many things to show. Tourism is such an industry which doesn't produce smoke but it produces jobs, create awareness. There is no bad thing about this industry which is also called an industry without smoke," said Rijiju.

Six major tribes Monpa, Miji (Sajolang), Aka (Hrusso), Sherdukpen, Sartang and Bugun participated in the event.
