Arunachal Pradesh joined the rest of the country in launching the 'Swachhta Hi Seva', a nationwide sanitation campaign on the occasion of third anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014.
While launching the programme in Itanagar, state's Urban Development and Housing Minister Nabam Rebia said that the dream of the Prime Minister for a clean India by 2022 is going to be a reality soon as all sections of the society are supporting and joining the cleanliness campaign.
Stating that the people of the state have realised the importance of 'swachhta', Rebia urged the people to participate in the campaign whole heartedly.
Yesterday, President Ram Nath Kovind kicked off the fortnight-long 'Swachhta Hi Seva' campaign from Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur.
The President also made people take a pledge whereby they resolved to create a clean, healthy and new India.
