Cameron Bancroft smashed an unbeaten half-century as Australia A claimed a three-wicket win over India A in the fourth and final day of the first four-day Quadrangular A series game at the Allan Border Field here on Sunday.
Chasing a target of 159 runs, Bancroft struck a 58-run knock, including six boundaries, to propel the Australian side take an unassailable 1-0 lead in the two-match unoffical Test series.
Beau Webster and skipper Peter Handscomb contributed 30 and 24 respectively in the match, which was hit by rain.
For India A, Shardul Thakur and Varun Aaron shared five wickets between themselves while Hardik Pandya and Jayant Yadav chipped in with a wicket each.
Meanwhile, Handscomb was adjudged 'Man of the Match' for his 93-ball 87 runs in the first innings.
The two sides will play their second four-day match, starting at the same venue on Thursday.
