Former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood has suggested that Junaid Khan should be a regular feature in the one-day internationals in order to strengthen the side's bowling unit for the forthcoming tours.
In the wake of high-targets set by Zimbabwean batsmen in the recently concluded series, the 40-year-old cricketer pointed out that the real problem lied in the consistency of selection.
Mahmood insisted that Junaid should be picked regularly for Pakistan in the ODIs and should have been played, but he was ignored in the first two games, PakPassion has reported.
Describing Junaid as an 'excellent' one-day bowler, Mahmood said that the left-hander was quite capable of delivering good Yorkers and he along with Wahab Riaz was amongst their best bowlers.
Hence, the work-load excuses shouldn't be used to drop players, he added.
